MY ROLE
Webdesign (fictional)
CLIENT SINCE
“Since the 90s, event culture has been rising tremendously. Festivals, conferences, releases, exhibitions, and fairs have transformed into a new shape that changes every year […] An event’s digital presence is as important as the event itself […] Basically, the marketing team wants this to happen every time:”
[This project was a fictional project as part of my UX/UI training]
The challenge: Creating an event microsite for a client of my choice that currently has a website with a design in need of improvement. The time frame for this project was five days and I was working individually.
My client for this project was 48 Stunden Neukölln, which is an annual 2-day festival, founded in 1999 and established as biggest liberal art festival in Berlin. According to their website, the event focuses on “projects in all conceivable artistic disciplines found in the art scene in Berlin”, it is “contributing to discussions of ideas effecting society at large while also reflecting said society”, and what stands out is that “all segments get involved, regardless of age, ethnic background or social standing”.
The current website does not meet users’ needs to easily build their own schedule of participating events. The solution is a visual makeover taking into account layout, colour and typography changes to create a more consistent product that aligns with the brand’s values.
